Each year, right about the beginning of November,

it seems the joy of the Christmas season begins to settle on the minds and hearts of folks everywhere.

The anticipation of the festivities and fun, surrounds us like a warm, cozy blanket.

Most often, that joy makes itself evident in the way we adorn our homes for the season.

We pull out our garlands and wreaths.

We light candles, and display beautiful nativity sets.

But always, it is the Christmas tree that becomes the focal point in our homes.

With it's beautifully adorned boughs, and lighted branches,

the Christmas tree is truly a breathtaking beauty!

It is most always, the first thing that draws our eyes when we walk into someone's home.

And it is absolutely my favorite part of my holiday decor!

This year, I really wanted to create a nature inspired theme.

But, because I didn't want to break the bank in the process,

I decided to get creative and incorporate things I already have around my home.

Like these simple, metal lanterns.

I use these on my deck in the summer. They are not Christmas ornaments, but no matter!

I decided to give them a go on my tree and I absolutely adore them!

They have an outdoorsy feel and I just love the worn, metallic look they lend to the tree.

I also brought in these little metal pots that I fill with summer plants and keep on my outdoor dining table.

I love how their muted tones add subtle color and texture to the tree.

I usually keep this ampersand sign in my powder room,

but since I removed it to make room for a tiny Christmas tree on the counter top,

I decided to stuff it into my big tree as well.

The wood and metallic finish lends to a natural feel that is perfect for my desired theme.

Years ago I bought my daughter a horse wind chime to hang in her room.

She's grown tired of it and took it down, so I opted to use it on my tree as well.

I also have a vintage crock in my home that I keep filled with pine cones year round,

but because I stuffed a medium sized tree in it,

I tucked the pine cones into my Christmas tree.

And really, there is nothing that says nature inspired like pine cones!

I love stars!

I have a few star ornaments tucked in with my Christmas tree decor,

so I pulled out the natural ones and fitted them into this year's nature inspired tree.

How beautiful are these wooden stars?

My dad made these for me a few years back.

They are so special to me, and they will definitely ALWAYS make an appearance on my tree!

These are "snowball" ornaments I picked up a few years ago for super cheap.

They really don't look like much in the package,

but tucked into my nature inspired Christmas tree, they look gorgeous!

These clear plastic deer, I picked up at Dollarama years ago.

While they are not technically tree ornaments,

I simply tucked them into the branches.

I love how they pick up the glow of the Christmas lights!

These snowflakes,

these glittery gold picks,

and these shimmery icicles were purchased years ago from Dollarama as well.

They were really inexpensive, however, they look anything but, hanging on my tree.

I finished the whole tree with stiff, white and gold glitter ribbon from Walmart that I picked up two years ago.

And, I must say;

I am really pleased with how my

Nature Inspired Christmas Tree

turned out!

By thinking outside the box a little,

and by using things I already had on hand,

I was able to create a themed Christmas tree that I absolutely love.
